Before you begin. Allow approximately 10 minutes to complete this Maritime Safety Service Application Form. Have your vessel registration documents (MMSI, IMO, callsign, port of registry), your terminal IMEI and SIM/ICCID numbers (if known — we can populate these from Iridium provisioning if you don't have them yet), and an emergency contact reachable in a safety-of-life incident. You will be required to download a copy of your completed application and the Iridium GMDSS Service Terms & Conditions before you can submit. These details are loaded into the GMDSS database and used by Navarea, Metarea, and Rescue Co-ordination Centres (RCCs) to direct safety-of-life notifications to your vessel. Accuracy is critical.

The MMSI is your nine-digit Maritime Mobile Service Identity. The IMO Number is your seven-digit IMO ship identification — required unless your vessel is exempt (most pleasure craft under 300 GT are exempt).

Under MSSAF clause 2.4, you remain solely responsible for keeping this information current, accurate, and complete — including notifying Clase Connected of any subsequent changes.

GMDSS Terminal & Plan

Plan required · Terminal details may be left blank

Terminal & activation identifiers — the LT-4100S (Ship Earth Station 1) and LT-4200S (Ship Earth Station 2) are Lars Thrane Iridium Certus GMDSS terminals. You may have one (typical) or two (recommended dual-redundancy fit-out). Tick whichever applies and supply the IMEI and SIM/ICCID if you have them already — otherwise leave blank and Clase Connected will populate from Iridium provisioning after order acceptance.

Monthly plan — all five tiers include unlimited GMDSS safety messaging at no marginal cost. The MB allowance is for general-purpose data over the same terminal. Pick the tier most appropriate to your operational data needs. Overage is charged per MB at the rate shown for each tier. All prices are quoted in USD ex VAT; UK customers are invoiced in GBP at the prevailing exchange rate.

DSG (Dynamic Shared Group) allows a fleet operator to pool the monthly allowance across multiple terminals. Included free on the 10MB tier and above, with a 10% incremental surcharge applied to monthly recurring and overage charges.

By signing below you (the End-User) confirm that you have read, understand and accept the Iridium GMDSS Service Terms and Conditions set out in this MSSAF, and that you have full right, power and authority to bind the End-User (and any underlying vessel owner) to this Agreement.

Iridium GMDSS Service Terms & Conditions — Summary of Material Terms

This Maritime Safety Service Application Form (MSSAF) sets forth the terms under which Clase Connected Ltd (Service Provider) makes available the Iridium Global Maritime Distress and Safety Service (GMDSS) via the Iridium SafetyCast EGC system, for the dissemination of Maritime Safety Information (MSI), navigational and meteorological warnings, search-and-rescue information, and other distress and safety-related messages pursuant to International Maritime Organization requirements. The full MSSAF terms are downloadable below.

Operational requirements & fair use

The End-User must comply with operating procedures notified by the GMDSS Terminal manufacturer (Lars Thrane for the LT-4100S and LT-4200S) and Iridium. The terminal shall be used exclusively for peaceful purposes. The fair-use policy prohibits unlawful use or activities that interfere with the fair use of the Iridium network by other subscribers. Iridium reserves the right to actively monitor usage and to regulate or terminate access where necessary to maintain network performance.

Accuracy of information — safety-of-life

Vessel identity and contact information will be input into the GMDSS database accessed by Navarea, Metarea and Rescue Co-ordination Centres (RCCs) for safety-of-life notifications. The End-User is solely responsible for ensuring information is current, accurate and complete and may be held liable for any incorrect or unclear information that contributes to damage, injury, or loss of life in a marine safety incident. Positional and personal data may be shared with authorised national and international agencies for the purpose of maritime safety.

Charges, term & termination

A one-time $219.95 USD ex VAT activation fee applies; a $73.32 USD ex VAT deactivation fee applies when service is terminated by the End-User. All plans have a one-month minimum term and renew monthly until cancellation. Usage in excess of the inclusive MB allowance is charged per MB at the rate shown for the selected tier. The Service Provider may suspend or terminate service for fair-use breach or non-payment.

Disclaimers & limitation of liability

The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. Service Provider shall not be liable for any losses sustained by reason of unavailability, delay, outage, faultiness or failure of the facilities, services, or products. In no event shall either Party be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, including lost profits or revenues, loss of business, or loss of use. Confidentiality, intellectual property & assignment

Confidential information exchanged between the Parties is protected for three (3) years from disclosure. Intellectual property in the Service remains the exclusive property of Iridium Satellite LLC. This Agreement is personal to the Parties and may not be assigned by End-User without Service Provider's prior written consent. Force majeure (acts of God, government, or other causes beyond reasonable control) excuses non-performance.

Electronic signature & records

You acknowledge that your typed signature, the act of submitting this form, and the records produced therefrom constitute valid electronic signatures and electronic records under the UK Electronic Communications Act 2000, the EU eIDAS Regulation, and (where applicable) the U.S. E-SIGN Act and UETA, and are legally binding to the same extent as wet-ink signatures. Per MSSAF clause 10.5 the Agreement may be executed by electronic signature.

Governing law

This Agreement shall be governed by the laws of the State of New York without reference to its principles of conflict of laws. Disputes shall first be addressed through good-faith discussions; failing resolution within twenty (20) days, either Party may pursue arbitration in accordance with the procedures of the International Chamber of Commerce, conducted at a mutually agreeable city within or near the jurisdiction of the Service Provider.
